Phyllis L. Hennigan, Cultural & Community Philanthropist

Mrs. Hennigan has devoted decades to philanthropic and community service organizations. She recently served on the boards of both St. John’s Hospital Foundation and the Autry Museum. From 1992-2007, she was Chairman, President, Vice President and a Board member of both the Center Theatre Group and The Blue Ribbon. She was a Trustee at Mount St. Mary’s College from 2004-2014. She was Co-Chairman of The Cathedral Capital Campaign from 1997-2002, and was a Founding Member of the Director’s Roundtable at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art from 1984-1997. 

Mrs. Hennigan received numerous awards for her outstanding community service, including the California Hospital Humanitarian Award (2001), University of Southern California School of Music Award (1997), Assistance League Eve Award for Outstanding Community Service (1997) and the National Philanthropy Day Outstanding Volunteer for Los Angeles (1996). 

Mrs. Hennigan is a 1969 graduate of Northwestern University with a B.A. in Political Science. After college, she worked in the Arizona House of Representatives as the Administrative Assistant to the Governmental Relations Committee and thereafter in real estate sales. 

Mrs. Hennigan and husband, J. Michael Hennigan, live in Pasadena and have two daughters and 5 grandchildren.
