Preserve, Enhance, Connect - Demonstration Project Design Progress

The One Arroyo Foundation Retains RJM Design Group for Design of Demonstration Projects

One Arroyo News Feed…

With the unanimous support of the City Council, One Arroyo Foundation is pursuing a comprehensive program— a new paradigm — to maintain, enhance and preserve Pasadena’s Arroyo Seco.  This program includes the One Arroyo Trail, a volunteer program, special learning opportunities for students, and a “Friends of One Arroyo” support group.  The Foundation is independent, but will work closely with the City.

The One Arroyo Foundation is a nonprofit organization created to supplement available public funding to complete enhancement projects for the Arroyo Seco.

The Foundation’s initial goal is to create a unified One Arroyo Trail connecting the three areas of the Arroyo Seco Hahamonga, Central Arroyo and the Lower Arroyo.

Our primary focus will be to raise monies and work with the City on the development of demonstration projects at key connection points within the Arroyo, such as Hahamonga’s Woodland Loop and the Colorado Street Bridge streamside walk.

Our initial fundraising goal is $7 million for the completion and maintenance of these demonstration projects.

We believe our philanthropic efforts will supplement the existing public funding and encourage future development for additional enhancement projects and programs within the Arroyo Seco.
