H. Michael Hecht, Former President of Carter Hawley Hale Inc.


Michael Hecht is currently a consultant for consumer product and retail companies. In this role he has consulted with Private Equity L.L.C.s, Manufacturers of Apparel and consumer goods, and several startup ventures. 

Prior to becoming a consultant, he was President of Carter, Hawley Hale, Chairman and President of The Broadway Department Stores, President of Dickson North America, the North American arm of Dickson Concepts, Hong Kong and worked with Blackstone on their investment in Collins and Aikman and Builder’s Emporium. He has served on the Board of Directors of Carter Hawley Hale, Edison Brothers, House of Fabrics and Ashworth Inc. 

Michael was born in Buffalo, New York. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in Economics and Geography in 1961, and The Amos Tuck School of Dartmouth College with an MBA in 1962. He moved to Los Angeles to join Carter Hawley Hale and The Broadway Department Stores in 1975. 

Michael and his wife, Diana, live on the west side of the Arroyo overlooking the Pasadena Casting Club casting pond.
